Lucy Liu is a voice actress, director and singer. She's also an actress. In addition to being a beautiful and intelligent actress, she serves as a role model for many Asian actors working in Hollywood that want to be successful. The early successes of her were boosted through her participation in a few popular series. In those shows, she played the evil Ling Woo. The actress took her initial success into big screen roles in movies like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She delivered a stunning performance as Japanese gangster O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. Around the same time she was playing lead roles in some box office failures such as Rise: Blood Hunter. Later, she became a voice actress in animated films, including Kung Fu Panda. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia failed to produce positive results. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland has helped her regain recognition as an actress of note. Liu picks her roles wisely to ensure she is not a victim of this competitive industry. Liu has taken on her Chinese heritage however she has not let them restrict her creativity.
